![]() ![]() With a jumped chain, we would expect to see the adjusters in synch with each other, even though the cam and crank were not lined up. That is, as you know, more consistent with either a clogged or a bad adjuster, than it is with a jumped chain. I wanted to let you know that we had our tech use the scan tool to verify that the cam ADJUSTERS are out-of-synch with each other. I just tried to call and your phone was busy. I hope they take pics of the guides and intermediate sprocket. Posted: Mon 7:31 pm Post subject: Re: 24v Vr eurovan- cam shaft position sensor code and rough idle Let me know how it shakes out at the shop. ![]() i'm thinking that's more likely than deeper timing issues because you'd likely have codes for both banks or other timing related codes. either way the error stays physically on bank 1. so the error basically stays on bank 1 no matter what. Posted: Mon 5:41 pm Post subject: Re: 24v Vr eurovan- cam shaft position sensor code and rough idleĪctually. I am Hoping that you are right in it being electrical and I suggested looking into that to the shop. Both plugs look to be in good shape and were not dirty st all. Swapping sensors around didn’t change a thing but moving switching the plus did. If so, seems like a pretty clear wiring issue. So you're saying that the error code following the switched plug but not the swapped sensors? The van is sitting at Munks Motors in Michigan waiting to get looked at. I didn't go over 2k rpm because I did not want to risk bent valves and all the fun that comes a long with that if it is a mechanical timing issue. While driving no codes pop up but t does show a pending code P0340 and it runs smooth. It would go from the same code by bank 1 to same code but bank 2. The only thing I could get to change is by switching the plus for the cam shaft position sensors. I put the new sensor in each spot, moved the old ones around and no change. Bought a cam shaft position sensor and tried that. ![]() I got to Autozone by not going over 2,000 rpm ok. The cam shaft position censors were filthy. I did have P0011 (A camshaft position timing over- advanced of system performance bank 1) but it never came back after I deleted it. That causes it to misfire so i get those codes (random misfire and cylinder specific misfire). P0340 (camshaft position sensor A circuit bank 1 or single sensor). ![]() All I have is a ANCEL AD310 OBDii scanner. I limped a cross the street to the park and went fishing. I got it started but it was idling like crap. When I came out and started it the it died. When I parked at a gas station it was fine. I drove 2 hours to go fishing with not issues or weird stuff going on.
